Scratch 2.0 Download for Windows 10 - Explore, Create, and Share with Scratch

Scratch is an innovative programming language that has been designed to help young learners develop computational thinking and coding skills. It allows students to create interactive stories, games, and animations by using blocks-based programming. Scratch has become increasingly popular among educators and students worldwide, as it is a fun and engaging way to learn coding concepts. However, downloading Scratch 2.0 on Windows 7 can be a bit tricky for some users.

The free-to-download application lets students combine sounds, photos, and graphics to create animations, slide shows, apps, programs, and games. It employs a simple drag-and-drop method to make learning fun. The more projects you create, the better you get! The program is also quite intuitive and becomes more and more complex as the user progresses.

The app also lets users send commands and create unique programs, presentations, games, and applications. It also offers various built-in MIT Scratch tutorials and forum discussions to help kids bypass the learning curve. Furthermore, the application is easy-to-use, free-to-download, and works both online and offline.

The Scratch 2.0 Offline Editor can be downloaded at scratch:download/scratch2.[note 2] For macOS 10.10 and later or Windows 7 and later, the latest version of Adobe AIR may be downloaded here. For Linux and older operating systems, the AIR 2.6 runtime may be downloaded here. In the latter case, you must download the "Mac OS 10.5 & Older" version of Scratch.

Scratch 2 Offline Editor 2.0 can be downloaded from our software library for free. Scratch 2 Offline Editor is categorized as Education Tools. The following version: 2.0 is the most frequently downloaded one by the program users.

The current setup file available for download occupies 58.2 MB on disk. The most frequent installer filename for the program is: Scratch 2.exe. Our antivirus analysis shows that this download is clean. This free tool was originally developed by MIT Media Lab.

Scratch takes its name from a technique used by disk jockeys called "scratching", where vinyl records are clipped together and manipulated on a turntable to produce different sound effects and music. Like scratching, the website lets users mix together different media (including graphics, sound, and other programs) in creative ways by creating and 'remixing' projects, like video games, animations, music, and simulations.[10][11]

An offline "Desktop Editor" for Scratch 3.0 is available for Microsoft Windows 10 and above in the Microsoft Store, Apple's macOS, ChromeOS, and Android;[14] this allows the creation and playing of Scratch programs offline. The offline editor can also be downloaded in previous versions, such as Scratch 2.0 and Scratch 1.4 (an archive of older versions is found here).

Users of Scratch are called 'Scratchers'. Scratchers have the capability to share their projects and get feedback. Projects can be uploaded directly from the development environment to the Scratch website and any member of the community can download the full source code to study or to remix into new projects.[33][34] Scratchers can also create project studios, comment, favorite, and "love" others' projects, follow other members to see their projects and activity, and share ideas. Projects range from games and animations to practical tools. Additionally, to encourage the creation and sharing amongst users, the website frequently establishes "Scratch Design Studio" challenges.[35]

Every April Fools' Day, the Scratch Team will play pranks on users and add Easter eggs, one example being turning all the event blocks into cat versions of the same blocks. These blocks were called "cat blocks" and can be downloaded as one of the many downloadable Scratch add-ons.

Scratch 2.0 was released on 9 May 2013.[12] The update changed the look of the site and included both an online project editor and an offline editor.[54] Custom blocks could now be defined within projects, along with several other improvements.[55] The Scratch 2.0 Offline editor could be downloaded for Windows, Mac and Linux directly from Scratch's website, although support for Linux was later dropped. The unofficial mobile version had to be downloaded from the Scratch forums.[56][57]

Although the main Scratch website now runs only the current version (Scratch 3.0), the offline editors for Scratch 2.0 (and the earlier Scratch 1.4) are still available for download[68] and can be used to create and run games locally.[69] It is still possible to upload projects from the Scratch 2.0 launcher, which are immediately converted into Scratch 3.0 when uploaded to the main site.[70] There is also an offline version of Scratch 3.0.

Scratch uses event-driven programming with multiple active objects called sprites.[12] Sprites can be drawn, as vector or bitmap graphics, from scratch in a simple editor that is part of Scratch, or can be imported from external sources. Scratch 3.0 only supports one-dimensional arrays, known as "lists", and floating-point scalars and strings are supported, but with limited string manipulation ability. There is a strong contrast between the powerful multimedia functions and multi-threaded programming style and the rather limited scope of the Scratch programming language.

We have been running our Coderdojo events purely on Raspberry for the last 6 months and we are very happen with this update. So thank you very much! We can not take the scratch lessons up a notch, teaching them blocks and cloning.

There is a subtle difference between scratchx from the web site and the version on the pi: reporter blocks from extension (values with round edges) do have a visible/invisible checkbox in scratchx, but not in the standalone version on pi. This checkbox allows to display variable value on stage. Are there plans to correct this ?Or is extension.js format different for scratchx and standalone on pi?I am currently working on the integration between scratchClient and scratch2. This works pretty good for scratchx, but unfortunately there is this flaw in standalone version.

At the time of their initial release, most of the programming environments described above were not web-based. The additional steps of downloading and installing the software and media packages to a compatible operating system presented a barrier to easy installation and widespread use by children and teachers. In 2011 Google introduced the Web Audio API, an ambitious specification and browser implementation for creating complex audio functions with multi-channel output all in pure Javascript. Soon after, Chrome began to support its many features, and Firefox and Safari quickly followed suit. As the developers of Gibberish.js, an early web audio digital signal processing (DSP) library, point out, the Web Audio API is optimized for certain tasks like convolution and FFT analysis at the cost of others like sample accurate timing which is necessary for any kind of reliable rhythm (Roberts, Wakefield, and Wright 2013). Over the past few years, the Web Audio API has added functionality, a more accessible syntax, and new audio effects. The aforementioned Gibberish.js and its companion Interface.js were among the first libraries to add higher-level musical and audio structures on the base Web Audio API, which has enabled the rapid prototyping and implementation of complex web-based music and audio interfaces. These libraries are increasingly being used in educational settings, such as middle schools in which girls are taught coding (Roberts, Allison, Holmes, Taylor, Wright and Kuchera-Morin 2016).

If you are an organization using Chocolatey, we want your experience to be fully reliable. Due to the nature of this publicly offered repository, reliability cannot be guaranteed. Packages offered here are subject to distribution rights, which means they may need to reach out further to the internet to the official locations to download files at runtime.

Since Windows 10 1809, the Microsoft '.NET' framework is no longer preinstalled. If you upgrade from an earlier verison of Windows 10, your .NET instalation will be migrated, but if you start from scratch with Windows 10 1809 (or later), you will run into problems with the Industrial HiVision OPD DA server.

After the Admin Server has been started, the upgrade script will prompt you to start up the managed servers (for example, soa_server1 and pas_server1). To do so, make sure the environment variables are set as described in the Pre-Upgrade Tasks section, then navigate to MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/base_domain/bin. Using separate terminal windows, startup the PAS and SOA managed servers. Keeping in mind your actual managed server names may be different, use the following commands as examples:

I am using VS 2019. Can VB6 code be migrated to VB.Net and be opened in VS 2019? I wasn't able to open VB6 in VS 2019 as it is not supported. I tried to download interop forms tool kit but it is not available .

Here's a link to Microsoft's own support page! Where they list ALL of these models as being good for upgrade. Anyone from Microsoft answered why the Surface Pro 6 is stating it's NOT compatible when their support site says it IS compatible? -us/surface/which-surface-devices-can-be-upgraded-to-windows-11-76c3c125-82e0-4d1e-9550-12ed09f9058e

Likely a "safe boot" setting in the BIOS Had the same problem, went into BIOS and set safe boot to standard and something else blah blah windows compliant. After that it installed normally.
